Jujutsu Kisen Fans have been totally excited about Satoru Gojo ever since it was first introduced to Gege Akutami’s original manga series, and the voice star behind the powerful mage has revealed that Gojo has been carrying a surprising weakness throughout. There is nothing better than seeing a bossy character confidently displaying their power around their own series world, and even better when the character themselves are indifferent about it. This is especially true of Gojo because it provides a powerful and pivotal power to Yuji Itadori and other Jujutsu High students. But he himself manipulated his ideas and real motives.
Gojo is one of the more mysterious characters in the series overall despite how much we’ve been able to see him in action throughout his career thus far, but it remains to be seen whether or not we get to take a deeper look at the character. Talking about Gojo’s revival during an interview with ComicBook.com’s Megan Peters earlier this summer during the Crunchyroll Expo, series star (and Gojo’s vocal talent) Kaiji Tang revealed that while Gojo is strong on the outside, he has as much noticeable weakness as a person.
Tang began: “I think when you kind of fumble under that shell of being so strong – the super OP character on the show – I think he’s like the lonelier person on the show.” “That’s really surprising, and if you really delve into the series, there’s a reason… That was the most charming aspect of his character. Not in his strength, Gojo actually has a fairly large number of weaknesses as a person. I think that makes him A much more interesting character than if he was just a guy who was very strong.” This deeper understanding of the character comes from the fighter’s revival, and it’s certainly exciting to see how it can affect the rest of the series.
Gojo has been a pretty big part of the anime’s first season and Jujutsu Kaisen 0’s feature film, and he’ll be one of the many characters to return in Season 2, slated for release sometime next year.
